STATION Berlin
The virtual sun slowly sets over a digital landscape, as two groups of 10.000 avatars representing the artist's alter ego, facing each other. Their faces are modeled after a combination of the top 50 Google image search results for 'Jonas Blume', while their bodies conform to statistical average of digital bodies. Within the video, the virtual bodies rush towards each other, determined to engage in combat. The artist illustrates the absurdity of attempting to establish a uniform identity or reality in a decentralized world composed of fragmented identities, communities, and narratives.
The work is presented by medienkunstverein (media art association) as part of the exhibition:
TRANSCENDING BOUNDARIES. Visions of the Postdigital
The presented works, blur and transcend the boundaries between human and machine, past and future, material and immaterial. They envision a time when technologies not only serve as tools but also become mediums of freedom, opening up possibilities for shaping our reality.
