Join us for an engaging hands-on workshop focused on the innovative use of Python to program and customize LED name tags with the LED Badge Magic. This workshop will introduce participants to the practical applications of open hardware and software interfacing through Python scripting. Whether you're showcasing text, images, or intricate designs on LED badges, you’ll learn to navigate the tool's capabilities and constraints effectively.
Participants will use the LED Badge Magic tool, capable of handling 44x11 or 48x12 LED arrays and connecting via USB-HID interface. We'll cover everything from setting up your environment on various operating systems (Linux, Mac, Windows) to manipulating the badges' displays directly. The workshop will also delve into uploading different types of content, including static text, dynamic animations, and custom graphics, all managed through simple yet powerful Python commands.
The session is perfect for attendees interested in DIY electronic projects, wearable technology, or enhancing their programming skills with real-world hardware applications. By the end of this workshop, participants will not only have a deeper understanding of controlling LED displays but will also be able to take home their customizable LED badge for a donation as a memento of their achievement. Prepare to light up your ideas and bring them to life in an array of colors and motions on your very own LED badge!
