Roberta Fischli is a digital technology researcher, journalist, and PhD Candidate at the University of St. Gallen, Switzerland. In her research, she investigates new frameworks for digital empowerment, including collective data ownership models, digital public infrastructure, and digital democracy. Roberta is a member of the ethics council of the data cooperative POSMO, and part of the expert group of the Digital Trust Label. In both projects, she puts data ethics into practice. In her personal and professional life, she strives to use her knowledge and skills to identify, connect, and uplift the people and ideas fuelling positive change. From 2022 until 2023, Roberta was a Visiting Researcher at the Center for the Study of Law and Society at UC Berkeley and at Georgetown Law. She holds an MA in Political Science, and a BA in Political Science and Modern History from the University of Zurich. Her work has been published in Neue Zürcher Zeitung, Perspectives on Politics, Republik, European Journal of Political Theory, History of Political Thought, Morals and Machines, and Philosophy Now.

Roberta lives in Zurich and San Francisco.
