Inside Russian Propaganda: Two women who fight Kremlin’s Fake News

For over two years now, Russia’s war aims to obliterate Ukraine and possibly beyond. Inside its borders, the Russian state propaganda is hijacking its public’s perception, feeding into the state’s desired image of a “Western” enemy and the hunt for Nazis in Ukraine, while eradicating opposition with any needs possible. Public protest against the Putin regime has become close to futile. Who can even revoke from the Kremlin’s propaganda machine which by now is interfering in any sphere of information? And where does the Russian public actually stand? Masha Borzunova, the former face of opposition TV channel Doschd and host of ARTE’s Masha on Russia and Vladlena Savenkova, a filmmaker and producer for ARTE TRACKS East have made it their life’s work to fight Russian Fake News. In this session they will give deep insights into the propaganda apparatus and how to escape it.
